Waste:
Waste |
Waste are unwanted or unusable material. Which has huge environmental impacts and cause serious problem. some waste will eventually rot, but not all, and the process it may smell or generate methane gas. Which can be explosive and contributes to greenhouse effect. Here the plastic pollution causes harm to both human and animal. It can take to hundred or even thousand years to break down. So , the environment damage is long lasting. It affect all organisms in the food chain from tiny species like plankton through to whale.
Importance to prevent
wastes:
One of the bigger reason to reduce waste is your and your
family health. Due to these wastes everything is polluted such as
Water: water is colorless, tasteless and odorless
substance found all over the earth. Water is made up of billions of molecules.
Water on our planet flows as liquid in river, streams and oceans. Here water
pollution is usually as a result of human activities. There are many causes
that pollute the water such as
- industrial waste
- marine dumping
- mining activities
- sewage and wastewater
- the accidental oil leakage.
- Chemical fertilizer and pesticides.
Water pollution |
Soil: Soil contamination or soil pollution
is a part of our daily life. It is typically caused by industrial activities ,
agricultural chemical or improper disposal of wastes. Disposal of industrial
wastes is the major problem for soil pollution sources. Industrial pollutants
are mainly discharge by pulp, paper mills, chemical fertilizer, oil refineries,
sugar factories, textiles etc..
Soil pollution |
Air: Air pollution introduce into the air
of a substance which has harmful or poisonous effects. It is a mixture of solid
particles and gases in the air. Chemical from factories, dust, pollen and mold
spores may be suspended as particles. There are many other causes of air
pollutions . the burning of fossil fuels. Sulfer dioxide emitted from the
combustion of fossil fuels like coal, petroleum and other factory combustibles
are one of the major cause of air pollution.
- Forest fire.
- Home cooking.
- Agricultural activities
- Mining operations
- Indoor air pollution.
Air pollution |
Noise: Unwanted sound can damage
physiological health. noise pollution is associated with several health
conditions, including cardiovascular, high stress level, tinnitus, hearing
loss, sleep disturbances and other harmful and disturbing effects. The source
of noise pollution are-
- Industrial vehicles
- Transport vehicles
- Agricultural machine
- Defence equipment

Pollution causes on health:
There are many causes on health by
air pollution, soil pollution, water pollution and noise pollution.
Air pollution effects: there are long term effects on health and can be permanent
due to polluted air . Like accelerated aging of the lungs. Loss of lung
capacity and decreased lungs function. And develop the diseases such as asthma,
bronchitis and possibly cancer.
Soil pollution on effects: living, working and playing in the contaminated soil can
lead to respiratory diseases, skin diseases, and other diseases. And it can
cause other health problem.
Water pollution effects: some time water borne diseases such as typhoid, cholera,
paratyphoid, fever, jaundice and malaria. When chemicals in the water also have
negative effects on our health. Pesticide can damage the nervous system and
cause cancer because of the carbonates and organophosphates that they contain. Drinking
and swimming in polluted water can cause cancer.
Noise pollution effect: excessive noise has been shown to cause a range of health
problem ranging from stress, poor concentration, productivity losses in the
work place and communication difficulties and fatigue from lack of sleep. Industrialization
is most of the industries use big machines which generates more noise. The other
pollution are such as-
- Social event
- Transportation
- Household chores
- Health issue
- Playing loud music
- Construction activities
Health causes of pollution |
Facts on health:
These pollution causes damages to crops, animal, forest and bodies of water. its's also contributes to depletion of the ozone layer, which protects the earth from the sun's ultraviolet rays. some of the other environmental effects of pollution are haze, eutrophication and global climate change. here the groups most people affected by air pollution are people of color elderly residents, children with uncontrolled asthma and people living in poverty. vulnerable population may experience more health effects because these population already have higher rates of heart and lung conditions.
