Human respiratory system is a series of organs responsible for taking in oxygen and expelling carbon dioxide. The primary on respiratory system are the lungs, which carry out this exchange of gases as we breath. This process needs  for our cells to live and function properly and it help us to get rid of carbon dioxide which is a waste product of cellular function. There are many disease such as asthma, chronic, obstructive, pulmonary disease and lung cancer and much more.

Importance of respiratory system:

The respiratory system does two most importance things, it brings oxygen into our body, which we need for our cells to live and it helps us to get rid of carbon dioxide. Which is always waste product of our body. For better result we need to improve our respiratory system, these are-

  • Exerciseregularly
  • Eat a healthy and balanced diet
  • Maintain a healthy weight
  • Stop smoking, it can damage  lungs
  • Avoid indoor and outdoor air pollution

Causes of respiratory diseases:

Respiratory diseases may be causes by infection such as

Smoking: By regular smoking your lungs can be badly affected. Cough, cold wheezing and asthma is just as start. Smoking can cause fatal diseases such as pneumonia, emphysema and lung cancer.

Tobacco: tobacco causes cancer, heart disease, stroke, lung diseases, diabetes and chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases. Tobacco can also increase the risk of tuberculosis, certain eye diseases, and problem of immune system.

Breathing: some times you can have  mild breathing problem because of a stuffy nose or intense exercise. But shortness of breath can also be a sign a serious disease such as asthma, emphysema or pneumonia.

Asthma: asthma is a lung disease caused by inflammation that leads to wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness and coughing. Who has asthma? Many people have their family history of allergies, such as fever or pet allergies.

Secondhand smoking: there is no risk-free level of exposure to secondhand smoke. Secondhand smoke causes numerous health problems in infants and children, including more frequent and serve asthma attacks, respiratory infection, ear infection and much more.

Other form of air pollution: there are six major types of air pollutants harmful to human health such as carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, ozone, particulate matter and lead. Tough there are many different types of chemical in the air pollution.

Lung cancer: A lungs cancer that begins in the lungs and most often occurs in people who smoke. There are two major types of cancer non-small cell lung cancer and small cell lung cancer. Causes of cancer include smoking, second hand smoke, exposure and toxin and family history.

Causes

Symptoms of respiratory diseases:

Difficulty in breathing:  causes of shortness in breathing include asthma, bronchitis, pneumonia, anemia, lung cancer, inhalation injury, anxiety, high altitude with lower oxygen level. Congestive heart failure.

Stubborn cough: A chronic cough is when a cough stays longer than 8 weeks in adult and 4 weeks in children. Common causes include asthma, allergies, reflux disease. It can be a sign of more serve condition, such as heart cough or lung diseases.

Breathing noisily: noisy breathing Is typically caused by a partial blockage or narrowing at some point in the airways, the passage that connect the mouth to the lungs.

Lingering chest pain: chest pain can have causes that aren’t due to underline disease. include heavy lifting, weight lifting can be the example of chest pain. Some times chest pain can be due to reduced blood flow to the heart, while having neck pain or chest pressure.

Chronic mucus: excess mucus can be sometimes chronic mucus. It can be caused by wide range of factors, from allergies to an infection, cigarette smoke exposure to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Coughing up blood:  coughing up blood can be sign of serious medical condition. Infection, cancer and problem in bloodor in the lungs. These things can be responsible.

Protect your respiratory system:

Quit smoking: Smoking is the main causes of lungs cancer and chronic diseases. Cigarette smoke narrow the air passage in the lungs and makes breathing more difficult.

Air polluting: Air pollution can cause problem for all people. Especially for those people who is having other lungs diseases. People whose job involve large amount of dust, asbestos or chemical proper clothing, masks and ventilation should be used..

Wash your hands: Common respiratory infections are spreading through the hands touching infected surface and touching your mouth, noise, eye etc and the  causes are like cold, flu. By using proper hand wash regularly prevent the risk of infection.
